Cold Weather Rule

GRPU NEWS - Cold Weather Rule

The Minnesota Cold Weather Rule applies from October 1 through April 30.  A customer's electricity can be disconnected unless the Cold Weather Rule steps are followed.  To avoid disconnection, a customer must enter into, and keep current with, a payment arrangement with the utility.  If you're experiencing an inability to pay your utility bill,  please fill out the Application for Winter Disconnect Protection form here and work with a GRPU customer service representative on a payment plan.
